Elizabeth Cullen is the registered, Principal Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Acupuncturist, Chinese Herbalist, founder and director of The Dao Health.
She studied a Bachelor of Health Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the University of Technology Sydney. Following her undergraduate degree, her passion to provide access to evidence based, integrative Chinese Medicine led her to study a Masters of Women’s Health Medicine from the University of New South Wales.
After living in Cheng Du, China for clinical placement, Elizabeth witnessed how beneficial an integrative model of health is for the patient after she had the opportunity to shadow both traditional Chinese medicine and conventional medicine doctors in hospital and private clinic settings. Following this placement, Elizabeth continued to return to China from 2016 – 2019 to experience first hand the beneficial clinical outcomes from integrating Traditional Chinese Medicine into healthcare in Kun Ming and Beijing.
Her passion drew her to founding The Dao Health in 2016 in which she is dedicated supporting women and their families through each life chapter in a practice where patients of the West can confidently and safely experience and benefit treatment learnt from the East as a primary source of treatment as part of an integrative model of healthcare.
Through the use of the latest evidence-based Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture research, each patient is treated as an individual at The Dao Health. Elizabeth seeks the root of the cause rather than the branch to restore the healthy balance both physically and emotionally.
As well as Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal medicine treatment Elizabeth encourages time in consultation for the education of individualised lifestyle and dietary advice with patients to empower them to regain the responsibility of their own health and to be their own health advocate. This includes support to build a patient centred model of care with an integrated healthcare team for the patient to navigate their current health conditions and associated symptoms.
Elizabeth is an advocate of shared care and promotes an Integrative setting with medical and allied health professionals of the Sutherland Shire, St George, Sydney CBD and Eastern Suburb communities.
Elizabeth has a particular passion and enthusiasm treating Women’s Health and Fertility beginning with Menarche and Menstrual issues including Endometriosis and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome through to Preconception care, Fertility support both non-assisted and assisted, Male fertility support, IUI and IVF support, Pregnancy, Labour preparation and Postpartum care.
