Amenorrhea

Absence of a menstrual period for a minimum of three months.

Amenorrhea, defined by the absence of a period for a minimum of three months, can be supported with Traditional Chinese Medicine including Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine to support Ovulation and the return of a regular cycle.

Often treated in an integrative setting with the patient’s medical and allied health care team including GP and Gynaecologist, we strongly encourage this patient centred model of care for improved patient outcomes and the return of a regular cycle, with the patient’s consent.

Treatment for Amenorrhea will differ from patient to patient depending on the type of Amenorrhea and the length of time.

Types of Amenorrhea

  • Hypothalamic Amenorrhea
  • Secondary Amenorrhea
  • Post Oral Contraceptive Pill Amenorrhea

Ideal Amenorrhea Treatment

Treatment for Amenorrhea will differ from patient to patient depending on the type of Amenorrhea and the length of time of absence of period. Expectations of treatment can be from 3 – 12 months.
