If you are a new patient wishing to schedule a new patient initial consultation appointment or subsequent appointments, other than a general one-hour subsequent appointment, ​please contact our Burraneer clinic. Below is a summary of the treatments we offer at The Dao Health to help you find the specific appointment you require.

Initial and Subsequent General Health Consultation and Acupuncture Treatment

A General Health Consultation and Acupuncture Treatment is offered specifically to male patients and can address several areas of concern, including musculoskeletal concerns, reproductive health, mental and overall health, and wellbeing.

During this appointment, a detailed case history will be taken during the consultation. This will then be followed by an acupuncture treatment, which may also include the use of other modalities such as massage, cupping, guasha, moxibustion, dietary/lifestyle advice and the prescription of practitioner listed supplements and Chinese Herbal Medicine.

Initial and Subsequent Women’s Health Consultation and Acupuncture Treatment

A Women’s Health Consultation and Acupuncture Treatment is offered for all women who wish to visit The Dao Health. The Dao Health has a strong focus on Women’s Health with treatments supporting Amenorrhea, Oligomenorrhea, Dysmenorrhea, Endometriosis, PCOS and Menopause. These consultations and treatments are also offered for preconception-care, pregnancy care and IVF support.

During this appointment, a comprehensive case history is taken during the first half of the appointment, followed by an acupuncture treatment. This treatment may also include the use of various modalities in combination with the use of acupuncture. The practitioner may also choose to prescribe Chinese Herbal Medicine and/or supplements.

Initial and Subsequent Cosmetic Acupuncture Consultation and Treatment

A Cosmetic Acupuncture Consultation and Treatment is offered for all those who wish to visit The Dao Health for skin rejuvenation and/or other skin concerns. The Dao Health’s cosmetic treatments support; wrinkles and fine lines, sagging and dropping, dullness and dryness, dark puffy eyes, pigmentation, scarring, facial tension and other skin issues, such as Acne, Rosacea, Eczema and Psoriasis.

During this appointment, a briefcase history is taken during the first part of the consultation, then followed by a cosmetic acupuncture treatment. The use of very delicate and fine acupuncture needles are gently inserted into the facial skin and muscles, in addition to the insertion of some acupuncture points located on the body to balance the body’s internal health and optimise the health of the skin from the ‘inside out’. This treatment may also include the use of various modalities, such as gua sha, jade rolling and moxibustion. The practitioner may also choose to prescribe lifestyle and dietary advice, Chinese Herbal Medicine and/or supplements.

Initial and Subsequent Musculoskeletal Consultation and Acupuncture Treatment

A Musculoskeletal Consultation and Acupuncture treatment is offered for all persons at The Dao Health. This appointment is best suited for the person who is coming primarily for Musculoskeletal symptoms and conditions. For a person who is wanting to check in with a number of symptoms and conditions in addition to a Musculoskeletal issue we recommend either the Initial General Consultation and Acupuncture or Initial Women’s Health and Acupuncture which will go further into depth for the whole body as a system.

During this appointment a comprehensive case history will be taken about the symptoms followed by an Acupuncture treatment. This treatment may also include the use of various modalities in combination with the use of Acupuncture including Cupping, Moxibustion and Electroacupuncture.

Initial and Subsequent Partner Fertility Consultation

A Partner Fertility Consultation is offered to those trying to conceive. During this consultation, an in-depth case history is taken of the partner to assess general health and wellbeing, sperm health and lifestyle to ensure that they are at optimal health for conception. The practitioner will give necessary lifestyle advice and any herbal medicine or supplementation.

Initial and Subsequent Labour Preparation Consultation and Acupuncture Treatment

A Labour Preparation Consultation and Acupuncture Treatment is offered to pregnant women who are at 36 weeks’ gestation. These treatments occur weekly to support the arrival of the baby. This treatment involves preparing the mother’s body for a smooth labour and delivery with an emphasis on gently ripening the cervix and supporting the opening of the pelvis. During the consultation, if you are a new patient, a comprehensive case history will be taken followed by acupuncture treatment. This treatment may also include dietary and lifestyle advice, the use of moxibustion and discussion around postpartum care.

If you have a spouse or a close friend or family member that is supporting you through your pregnancy and close approaching delivery, we encourage you to bring them along to your Initial Labour Preparation Consultation and Treatment. We will discuss some “at-home” labour preparation techniques and advice surrounding partner support during labour.

Initial and Subsequent Postpartum Consultation and Acupuncture Treatment

A Postpartum Consultation and Acupuncture Treatment is offered to support new mothers at 10 days post-delivery of their baby. During a Postpartum Consultation and Treatment, a detailed case history will be taken on the mothers’ journey through their labour and delivery, this is then followed by an acupuncture treatment and the use of moxibustion to allow the new mother to rest, restore and support her recovery postpartum.

This is an exciting appointment where the spouse or close friends and family are invited to attend this appointment with the new bundle of joy.

Subsequent Extended Consultation and Acupuncture Treatment

A Subsequent Extended Consultation and Acupuncture Treatment is offered to those that have been a previous patient of The Dao Health but have not visited us for over 6 months. This treatment is extended by 30 mins to allow for more time in consultation to discuss your current health concerns. Please specify when contacting the clinic whether you have not been for an extended amount of time and we will book you in accordingly.

Subsequent Supplementation Review

A Subsequent Supplementation Review is offered to those that are patients of The Dao Health who have not attended the clinic for over 3 months.

This consultation is conducted via a 30min telehealth appointment to review the current supplement prescription and discuss the presenting signs and symptoms. The practitioner will then dispense what is necessary and pick up or delivery will be organised via reception.
