Can acupuncture in a community setting relieve the symptoms of endometriosis?
We are conducting a research study to evaluate the effectiveness of low-frequency acupuncture treatments in a community setting for endometriosis patients.
This study aims to make acupuncture more accessible for future possibilities to integrate acupuncture treatment into public hospital systems.

Study Details
What: Four monthly acupuncture sessions conducted in a group setting
Where: Peaches Pilates Studio, Cronulla – held by Period Pain & Pins by the Dao Health
Who: The Dao Health AHPRA registered traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners & acupuncturists Elizabeth Cullen, Molly Burton and Clarice Berry
Outcome Measures
Primary: Change in Visual Analog Scale (VAS) scores for pain.
Secondary: Changes in health-related quality of life and depression scores
Eligibility
- Age between 18-45
- Diagnosed with endometriosis via ultrasound or laparoscopy
- Willing to attend four monthly group acupuncture sessions
Timeline
- Screening & Recruitment: Currently ongoing
- Treatment Period: Four months
- Washout Period: Two months for final assessments
